During the trek, you’ll search for wild Sumatran orangutans while exploring lush rainforest trails with experienced local guides. The extended itinerary gives you more time to observe wildlife, enjoy spectacular viewpoints, learn about rainforest conservation, and experience life in the jungle.

As evening falls, relax at our comfortable jungle campsite, enjoy a freshly prepared dinner, listen to the sounds of the rainforest, and sleep beneath the tropical forest canopy. On the second day, continue exploring hidden jungle trails before returning to Bukit Lawang by traditional jungle tubing along the Bohorok River.

Day 1 – Jungle Trekking & Camping

Meet your guide in Bukit Lawang for registration, a safety briefing, and preparation before entering the national park.

09:30 AM – Begin the Jungle Trek

Hike through the rainforest while searching for wild orangutans and observing the rich biodiversity of Gunung Leuser National Park.

12:30 PM – Lunch in the Jungle

Afternoon Exploration

Explore new forest trails for another chance to spot orangutans, Thomas Leaf Monkeys, Gibbons, Hornbills, and other wildlife.

Jungle Tubing Adventure

After reaching the river, board a traditional jungle tube and float down the Bohorok River back to Bukit Lawang while enjoying beautiful rainforest scenery.

Return to Bukit Lawang
