Your trek begins in the morning as you leave Bukit Lawang and step into the rainforest with your licensed local guide. Over the course of three days, you will walk through lush jungle trails, cross small rivers, climb gentle hills, and pass through hidden valleys.
With more time in the jungle, you have a greater chance to see not only orangutans but also a wide variety of wildlife such as gibbons, siamangs, Thomas leaf monkeys, long-tailed macaques, hornbills, monitor lizards, and countless bird species. Your guide will also share knowledge about medicinal plants, jungle survival, and the delicate balance of this tropical ecosystem.
At midday, you will stop to enjoy fresh tropical fruits and a simple jungle lunch. In the late afternoon, you will arrive at your jungle campsite near a river or waterfall. Here you can relax, swim in the natural pools, and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere. Each evening, your guides will prepare delicious Indonesian meals, and you will spend the night surrounded by the sounds of the rainforest.
On the second day, you will trek even deeper into the jungle, exploring new areas that are rarely visited. The second night in camp offers another chance to enjoy the magic of the rainforest after dark.
On the third day, after breakfast, the trek continues at a slower pace before returning to Bukit Lawang. You can choose to walk back through the forest or enjoy an adventurous tubing ride down the Bohorok River ā a fun and refreshing way to end your jungle experience.
