Your expedition begins with an early start in Bukit Lawang. Over five days, you’ll trek through dense rainforest, river valleys, steep hills, and hidden waterfalls. With more time than any other trek, you will reach deeper parts of the national park, far from the tourist paths, where the jungle is wilder and the chance of encountering rare animals is higher.
Throughout the trek, you may see orangutans, Thomas leaf monkeys, long-tailed macaques, pig-tailed macaques, gibbons, siamangs, hornbills, monitor lizards, peacocks, and a variety of reptiles, birds, and insects. Your experienced guides will teach you about jungle plants, animal behavior, and survival techniques, giving you a real sense of life in the rainforest.
Each day, you’ll enjoy fresh fruits and traditional jungle meals prepared by your guides. At the end of each trek day, you’ll arrive at a jungle campsite by a river or waterfall, where you can swim, relax, and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere. In the evenings, your guides will cook delicious Indonesian dishes, and at night you’ll sleep in a tent under the jungle canopy, surrounded by the natural sounds of the forest.
On the final day, after breakfast at camp, you’ll make your way back towards Bukit Lawang. To finish the adventure, you can either hike out of the jungle or choose the exciting tubing ride down the Bohorok River — the perfect ending to your jungle expedition.
